With a clear night sky over Moskito Island, guests of The Point, one of the island’s estates, can explore the cosmos like never before with the new Cosmic Concierge experience. Guests can witness the universe using one of the most advanced personal telescopes on the market, the Celestron NexStar 8SE Computerized Telescope.
“At The Point, we’ve always been passionate about offering our guests the most extraordinary experiences, and this is yet another way to connect with the natural beauty of our surroundings—both on land and among the stars,” said Paul Salem, owner, The Point, and chairman, MGM Resorts. “There is something truly transformative about witnessing the vastness of the universe from a place as untouched as Moskito Island.”
More than just the telescope, the Cosmic Concierge helps guests turn stargazing into an immersive experience. With the Barlow Lens technology, magnification is enhanced, bringing objects like Jupiter’s moons into astonishing detail. Colored planetary filters let guests observe celestial bodies in new ways. Moskito Island is positioned at 18° North latitude, the perfect vantage point for viewing both northern and southern hemisphere constellations.
Some upcoming astronomical events guests at The Point can enjoy include:
- April 22-23: Lyrid Meteor Shower
- May 31: Venus at greatest elongation
- 12: Close Approach of Venus and Jupiter
- 5: Supermoon
- 13–14: Geminid Meteor Shower
