Destinations / Europe

Over the past few years, Iceland has become an increasingly popular vacation destination, due in part to its stunning natural beauty. With so many places to experience, add these spots to your list to ensure you’ll have photos to make all of your friends back home jealous.

Northern Lights

If seeing this natural light display is at the top of your list, aim to visit Iceland between September and April, when the phenomenon is at its peak.

Waterfalls

Iceland’s majestic waterfalls serve as a perfect natural photo subject. While there are many to choose from, start your waterfall tour with these: Skógafoss, Gullfoss, Svartifoss and Seljalandsfoss.

Glaciers

A trip to Iceland isn’t complete without experiencing a glacier up close. The serene surroundings make for a perfect photo. Visit Svínafellsjökull, Vatnajökull, Sólheimajökull and Langjökull.

Geothermal Spas

Another iconic Icelandic experience is a trip to a geothermal spa. Head to the Blue Lagoon if want a shot of the striking blue waters and don’t mind crowds. Try Laugarvatn Fontana for a spa with a stunning backdrop.

Harpa

Reykjavik’s conference hall and concert venue opened to the public in 2011. The stunning building features a colored glass façade, perfect for snapping a beautiful architectural Instagram.
