Sometimes the lure of a city or the luxuries of an exotic locale are not what you have in mind when you hit the road. Perhaps you are drawn to more natural environs. If this is the case and you want to experience beauty and support the national parks in a more active way, then the Volun-tour program might be for you.

The Nature Corps has been running a version of this program since 1987 and recognizes it as part of its legacy of conserving the natural wonders of this country. It is an opportunity to enjoy the national parks while working with fellow nature lovers. Volunteers can choose from a variety of experiences, whether you have dreamed of working in Yosemite or Hawai’i or on the northern California coast, there is a program suited to you.

Programs vary in length and price. An economy accommodation for three days in Yosemite will cost $195, and includes food and lodging. Alternatively, three days in Morro Bay will run $295, at the economy level with the premium accommodation approaching $595. Longer tours to locations such as Hawai’i will definitely be more expensive. The eight-day trip can cost as little as $1,595, with an employer’s contribution. Many of these trips include additional excursions and activities such as guided hikes and photography workshops.

No matter where you go, it promises to be a vacation like no other.

Interior Upgrades Begin Rolling Out Across United Fleet

United Airlines is in the midst of a major initiative to modernize its fleet over the next several years. After first announcing the plan in 2021, planes fitted with United’s signature interior are finally beginning to appear across the airline’s narrowbody fleet of Boeing and Airbus planes. United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
