One of the most complicated aspects of owning large luggage is finding a place to store it when you’re not traveling. Soft-case pieces of luggage made of pliable materials are much easier to file away between trips, but large, bulky, hard-case suitcases with wheels can be a bit trickier. A company called Néit solved this conundrum by developing luggage with a sturdy shell that also collapses and folds down for simple storage.
Néit’s hard-case luggage is made from a durable yet flexible polypropylene that can fold down to just 3 inches when not in use. When expanded, though, the luggage has all the same features travelers would find on any other rolling bag, including spinner wheels (also foldable), a carabiner handle, a TSA-approved lock and an optional integrated tracking system.
The luggage is available in two sizes: The Carry-On (8.8 pounds) measures 21.6 inches by 16 inches by 8 inches when expanded, or 24 inches by 15 inches by 3 inches when collapsed, while the Check-In expands to 32 inches by 20 inches by 11 inches, and folds down to 35 inches by 20 inches by just 3 inches.
The two bags can be purchased on Néit’s website for $251 for the Carry-On and $420 for the Check-In. A set of the two bags is available as well for $678.
