Next month, you’ll have a faster way to reach Key West thanks to Tropic Ocean Airways. The airline announces new and non-stop flights between Fort Lauderdale and Key West beginning Nov. 29, with one-way fares starting at just $199.
The one-hour flight departs from Sheltair Aviation in Fort Lauderdale to Signature Aviation in Key West, bypassing traditional airport crowds. The service means travelers can enjoy the Keys in a single day. In fact, the airline has a Keys in a Day experience, complete with round-trip tickets at $500 per person, allowing eight hours to explore Old Town or get out on the water before returning to Fort Lauderdale. With this experience, passengers can arrive just 30 minutes before departure, receive complimentary valet and multiday parking, baggage allowance with every seat, access to a private lobby with WiFi, snacks and beverages, and pet-friendly travel.
“For South Floridians, Key West is close enough for a getaway, but the drive can make even a short trip feel like a commitment,” said Jason Schmidt, CEO, Tropic Ocean Airways. “We saw an opportunity to deliver a unique experience and make Key West feel dramatically closer. Travelers can leave Fort Lauderdale in the morning, be in Key West about an hour later and even return home that evening.”
Flights will operate Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Tropic Ocean Airways will also introduce private charter water landings at The Perry Marina in Key West.
