Fancy a trip to your nearest botanical garden or state park? You might just be located beside one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the country according to a new study by Pergola Kits USA. The company recently looked at TripAdvisor reviews containing positive descriptors like “stunning,” “beautiful,” “breathtaking” and “gorgeous” across more than 260 botanical gardens in the United States.

The study ranked each garden based on the percentage of reviews containing these key words. So, which botanical gardens wowed visitors most?

Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park in Tallahassee, Florida, topped the list, with nearly 78 percent of TripAdvisor reviews describing the park as beautiful. Founded in 1923 by Alfred B. and Louise Maclay, these gardens include a secret garden, reflection pool, spectacular architecture, and hundreds of camellias and azaleas.

Blue Spring Heritage Center in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, came in second, with about 77 percent of reviewers raving about its stunning features. The heritage center honors the Cherokee people during the Trail of Tears and invites visitors to connect with the native gardens. Within the property, visitors will find Blue Spring, which pours 38 million gallons of crystal-clear water every day.

Other botanical gardens receiving praise from TripAdvisor reviewers include Fellows Riverside Gardens in Youngtown, Ohio; Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut; Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas; Hershey Gardens in Hershey, Pennsylvania; Belingrath Gardens and Home in Theodore, Alabama; Filoli in Woodside, California; Cape Fear Botanical Garden in Fayetteville, North Carolina; and Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, North Carolina.

Known as Florida’s Forgotten Coast, this stretch of the Florida Panhandle is often overlooked for more well-known destinations in the state, such as Panama City Beach, Miami and Tampa. But the region’s quiet and laid-back atmosphere slowly draws travelers wishing to escape the crowds and high prices of Florida’s other cities, and one hospitality brand just announced plans to bring a 55-acre resort and community to the area.
