Nobu Hotels, the luxury hotel brand owned in part by Robert De Niro, is heftily expanding in 2018. Currently, the brand has seven hotels and, this year, it’s opening five more.
The five new hotels include Nobu Hotel Chicago, Nobu Hotel Marbella, Nobu Hotel Riyadh, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos and Nobu Hotel Barcelona. Current properties are located in Miami, Malibu, Palo Alto, Manila, London and Ibiza.
The new Chicago property is slated for the West Loop, with 119 guestrooms and suites. A 10,000-square-foot Nobu restaurant from celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, also part owner, is planned as well, with an indoor and outdoor bar.
The Nobu Hotel Marbella is the brand’s second property in Spain, and should be open in March. The adults-only property includes a rooftop pool, a spa and tennis courts for guests. If you plan to stop by but are staying elsewhere, you can still check out the Costa del Sol nightclub.
Nobu Hotel Riyadh is planned as a 23-story skyscraper with 134 guestrooms and suites. An official opening date has not yet been announced.
The first Nobu hotel in Mexico, Nobu Hotel Los Cabos will offer 200 guestrooms with a Japanese minimalist vibe.
Nobu Hotel Barcelona also combines Nobu restaurant with the hotel portion of the brand, with 250 guestrooms and suites, and the restaurant located on the 23rd floor with views of Barcelona.
Beyond the 2018 newcomers, Nobu also plans properties for later development in Atlanta, Toronto, São Paulo and Bahrain.
