The weather is starting to cool down, but that’s no reason not to spend some time outdoors enjoying a winery with friends. In fact, it’s one of the most beautiful times to do so in certain regions. Check out some wineries in these top U.S. for some great scenery and ever better sips.

Finger Lakes, N.Y.

Fall is actually the most popular time of year to visit the famous Finger Lakes. In peak season the changing of the leaves is incredibly vibrant and a perfect setting for wine tasting. New England Coastal Wine Trail

The New England Coastal Wine Trail is a group of 14 wineries in southeastern New England, spread throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Pick and choose which ones you want to visit or, if you’re feeling adventurous, tour the whole region and taste them all.

Willamette Valley, Ore.

Willamette Valley is home to more than 500 wineries, and is especially known for Pinot Noir. So if that’s your wine of choice, it is well worth the trip. Yakima Valley, Wash.

Yakima Valley is considered the birthplace of Washington’s wine industry. It is home to more than 120 wineries over a span of 70 miles. The wineries here are as beautiful as they are welcoming and friendly.

Biltmore, N.C.

The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C., is famous for being the largest privately owned estate in the United States. Its impressive grounds and gardens are open to visitors, and so is its winery. For a taste of something more luxurious, the winery is worth checking out.
