Sometimes traveling can be a drag. No matter how excited you were to begin your trip, boredom is bound to set in at some point. Instead of turning immediately to your smartphone, beat boredom the old-school way and make some travel memories at the same time.
What road trip would be complete without music? Take turns picking songs and sing along. If you’re really up for it, start a sing-along or sing in a round. Turn the music up and cruise to your favorite tunes.
Play car games. We’re not talking chess here. Car games such as rhyming games or counting games can make the miles fly by. Count red cars, blue cars or other landmarks and make a friendly wager as to who will win.
Tell a story. Swap travel stories or create your own tale using visual cues like street signs and landmarks. Have one person start the story and pass the narrative along until it’s complete.
Just talk. Road trips are a great way to get to know each other. Playing games like “Never Have I Ever” or recounting memories are fun ways to learn more about your travel companions.
Put the smartphone down and enjoy your trip the old-fashioned way.
