The 2015 Sundance Film Festival will be held in Park City, Utah, from Jan. 22–Feb. 1. Celebrating its 30th year, the festival is the destination for film fanatics. One of the largest independent film festivals in the United States, Sundance serves as a showcase for new and independent filmmakers from all over the world. Competition juries, comprised of industry individuals, choose documentary and dramatic films for awards in dozens of categories. Oftentimes, these films go on to win Academy Awards.
The festival spreads out across Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and the Sundance Resort. You must register early for festival passes, student/youth packages or ticket packages. Individual tickets may be purchased in advance or on the day of the show. Waitlists are available for all screenings. In addition, free events like film panels, concerts and media installations run throughout the festival.
Sundance partners with more than 50 hotels to offer deals for festivalgoers. Book through the festival’s website for the best selection of low rates. Complimentary shuttle service runs between venues. Multiple theaters host screenings, so be sure to select your screening tickets in the city where you’ll be for most of the festival. Visit the merchandise store to bring collectibles from Sundance home with you.
