Sometimes it’s hard to choose which shoes to take if you are trying to pack light. On beach holidays, most people like to take flip-flops. While they might be fine for beach time, it’s hard to find bars or restaurants that will let you wear flip-flops.
The perfect shoe for this situation would be comfortable enough for the beach but smart enough to wear in the evenings. Patara thinks they developed the perfect combination.
Inspired by the Tropics, the team designed functional, stylish footwear that is lightweight and formal enough for bars and restaurants. Each design comes in a limited run, with cotton uppers and rubber outsoles for durability.
Aesthetically, they look a bit like espadrilles, but promise to last longer. There are currently three models available for both men and women: the Seeker slip-on, the Nomad lace-up and the Rover lace-up. During a successful Kickstarter campaign, the shoes sold for $75–90, depending on the style.
The prices aren’t the lowest on the market, but Patara is committed to paying staff a fair wage. There are also plenty of distinctive designs to choose from which will make you stand out from the crowd.
