Pilot is the world’s first earpiece designed to translate conversation between users speaking different languages in real-time. This smart earpiece, Pilot, uses dual noise-canceling microphones to focus in on speech by filtering out all surrounding sounds.
The earpiece uses state-of-the-art technology in speech recognition, language translation through the Pilot app and speech synthesis channeling back into the earpiece, all in seconds. Conversation can seemingly go uninterrupted while the earpiece incepts speech, confers with the app and translates back to the user.
Pilot uses Bluetooth technology to communicate with the user’s smartphone or other devices and can last four-six hours on a rechargeable battery. This device is also form-fitting and compact, making it ideal for travel and discreet wear y.
There is a secondary Pilot earpiece available with purchase of the device that can be used for music streaming and sharing so it is not limited to conversation. Also, Pilot offers a conference mode for users engaged in a group conversation involving multiple languages and speakers at a time.
This device raised their goal of about $2.5 million on IndieGogo by offering discount incentives once the earpiece is available, and the actual earpiece for early donors. The next steps are already underway while engineers build the device in mass quantities and will hopefully be available to the public soon.
