Travelers always seek out new ways to downsize and save space, but few of us probably take our eyewear into consideration when packing. Maybe now we should. Popticals, premium sunglasses that “pop out” rather than flip open, make protecting your sight easier when traveling overseas.
Popticals are sunglasses equipped with a micro-rail system that allows the sunglasses to compact on tracks, thus folding into portable shades that fit into your pocket. The sunglasses fold into four sections so the results are less than half of what a normal eyewear holder sizes out to be.
They’re handcrafted and designed by Carl Zeiss Vision in Italy with flexible materials that help to keep from breaking. Popticals lenses are also capable of repelling water, oil and dust and are scratch and impact resistant. They’re able to filter out 100 percent of UVA and UVB rays and are polarized to reduce glare.
Great shades don’t come cheap, though, so be prepared to drop a pretty penny for a pair of these beauties. They come in five different styles, from rimless to completely open frame, with the lowest coming in at a whopping $209. They’re built to last, so the price might just turn out to be worth it.
Check out all the designs on the website and see which one best fits your traveling style.
