Memorial Day Weekend, the start to summer, is about 100 days away. If you think about it, it feels like forever, but the weekend will be here before you know it. We have a few tips on how to prepare oneself for your best summer body just in time for MDW.

Dehair Your Legs and Bikini Line

One of the most nerve-racking things about hitting the beach or pool is worrying about stray hairs. Before you head into the sun, make an appointment for a wax or just shave at home. If you’re DIYing, go slow to avoid nicks and scrapes. Avoid the ocean immediately after shaving because saltwater can irritate the skin. To be 100 percent sure you’re fuzz-free, walk to the brightest place in your home, ideally with natural light, and check yourself out from every angle. Pay close attention to ankles, knees and the back of your thighs.

Choose Bloat-Free Food and Beverages

Ease up on the artificially sweetened foods and drinks. Avoid foods high in sodium or else you’ll retain water. Incorporate seasonal fruits and veggies into your diet.

Tone Up Your Underarms

Your arms are one of the easiest parts to get in shape. Tone up with a few moves from Hollywood trainers to get results in just a few weeks.

Exfoliate and Moisturize

Removing dead skin cells and hydrating new ones is good all year-round, but essential in the summer when you’re layering sunscreen and tanning oil on your skin. Use different products for your face and body because, when it comes to moisturizing, they have different needs. Be sure to moisturize on the inside too. Keep up your fluid intake and stay hydrated — you’ll flush out toxins and clear up your skin.

Find the Perfect Swimsuit

Find the swimsuit that complements your body type best. If you want to minimize your hips, find a suit with a brightly patterned top, bringing the focus upward. For covering up your tummy, skip tankinis that draw attention to the area.

Book a Pedicure

Summer means sandals and opened-toed footwear. Make sure your feet are presentable — it’s all a matter of maintenance.
