Reviews / Restaurant

Chinese cuisine has become a comfort food for many people around the world, but restaurants at the cheaper end of the spectrum are famous for the use of additives such as monosodium glutamate.

At Naturally Chinese, the chefs don’t use MSG in any of the dishes, and there is a special gluten-free menu for celiac. The focus is on making clean, authentic dishes served in comfortable surroundings, and the team does a great job.

With an extensive dim sum menu and a wide selection of main courses, Naturally Chinese is a great place to try less common dishes. Try one of the clay pot dishes, including stewed mutton, or some stir-fried scallops.

My crispy chili beef and Singapore-style noodles were a triumph, with fresh flavors and a natural taste. No more fluorescent colorings or liberal helpings of MSG to boost the flavor.

The chicken in yellow bean sauce also got good reviews, as did the tofu with sweet peppers and eggplants. There are a number of set menus on offer, with high protein and detox options for a set price.

Chinese beer such as Tsingtao make for a good accompaniment, and there are also various soft drinks to choose from. The staff is attentive, and the atmosphere welcoming. Naturally Chinese proves Chinese cuisine doesn’t have to contain lots of additives, and it’s only slightly more expensive than your local takeaway.

The total bill for three people with drinks came to $60, and it was worth every penny!

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips.
