Pimm’s is a cozy little joint that can actually seem a little sketchy from the outside. Inside, though, the décor is quaint and the presentation of food far above what you might expect.
It’s pricey, like everything else in the region, with a plate costing roughly $40 and a full three-course meal likely to reach $100. Truth be told, the food here is nothing to boast about, but it is much better than typical fare you’ll find in Luanda. The seafood here is your best bet. The fish soup was tasty and the grilled lobster was a good choice, but the bill for them is enough to make you want to cry.
If you’re looking for a place to eat where the quality of the food is comparable to what you might find back home in a nice establishment, Pimm’s is certainly the place you’re most likely to find in the city.
I will say the staff here was fantastic. They were friendly and attentive and happy to offer suggestions. While I can’t exactly give the restaurant a glowing review, I would happily return when I’m back in town. That’s high praise for the food scene in Luanda.
