Riggs Washington D.C., set in a historic Washington, D.C. building once home to Riggs National Bank, partners with RdV Vineyards to offer world-class wine tasting experiences exclusive to Riggs guests. RdV Vineyards is situated on a steep, granite hillside 60 miles outside of the nation’s capital.

Two exclusive experiences offer guests the chance to enjoy the best of the hotel and the vineyard. The Riggs Suite x RdV Overnight offer includes accommodations in the hotel’s luxurious Riggs Suite, with a dining room, living room, two adjoining guestrooms and a bar. A rare bottle of RdV wine and bites from Café Riggs await guests. Guests then enjoy a visit to RdV for an exclusive tasting experience and private lunch hosted by the founder and vigneron Rutger de Vink and winemaker Joshua Grainer. Guests also receive RdV Envoy membership, which includes four bottles of the vineyard’s wine per year and access to the library, large format bottles and invitations to member-only events.

“RdV Vineyards is known for their distinctive vision and commitment to quality, which perfectly aligns with our own view,” said Abe Liao, regional general manager, Lore Group. “Riggs’ guests have come to expect unique and elevated experiences, and our partnership with RdV allows us to deliver just that in a new way.”

Riggs guests can also add a bookable tasting to a stay in any hotel guestroom. Upon arrival at the vineyard, champagne and a tin of Petrossian Ossetra Caviar greet guests, who are then escorted on a private tour of the vineyard followed by a tasting and charcuterie. Guests also receive a bottle of RdV’s cult favorite Friends & Family wine.

Are You Ready for the Final Switch to Real ID?

Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
