The Tate Modern in London will host a retrospective on the career of Texan artist Robert Rauschenberg through April 2.
Visitors to the gallery will be shown a variety of works by an artist well known for his influence on trends in the global art scene. Rauschenberg made use of a huge number of different mediums in his works, ranging from painting to performance art.
The Tate Modern exhibition marks the first time in 35 years a major show of Rauschenberg’s work has been put on display in the UK. It’s a perfect opportunity for fans of the artist to see his works in the flesh, and those unfamiliar with Rauschenberg to become acquainted with a true artistic heavyweight.
Since his death in 2008 there have not been any other retrospectives of Rauschenberg, giving extra significance to the exhibition. It is expected to draw visitors from around the world.
Among the most famous works are large pop art prints of celebrities and dirty sheets covered in brush marks. The Tate Modern exhibition will challenge visitors as much as it entertains them, and is certainly worth a visit if you are in the British capital. A standard ticket to the exhibition costs £18.50 ($23).
