Finding the perfect carry-on bag can be a chore, especially when airline restrictions seem to change every day and vary. In order to meet nearly any airline’s guidelines, the best strategy is to invest in an expandable carry-on bag, one that can shrink in size for airlines with limited overhead bin space, or expand for larger planes with plenty of room for the maximum allowance.

Rockland — a Fox Luggage, Inc., company — has a line of bags called the Melbourne, made of 100 percent lightweight plastic. Measuring 20 inches by 13 inches by 9 inches, the Melbourne bag sits upright on four wheels, allowing 360 degrees of rotation for easy maneuverability through airports and train stations.

A central interior mesh pocket stores smaller valuables or items that need to be easily accessed, while two large chambers hold everything else. The lofty interior and durable exterior allow travelers to pack in as much as possible while still adhering to airline regulations regarding baggage size and weight.

Rockland’s Melbourne luggage comes in 29 colors, both solid and bi-colored, and can be purchased on Amazon.com or in Walmart stores. The listed price is $120, but the bags can be purchased online for as low as $45 depending on the website.
