Whenever you go to Baltimore, there’s usually only one thing on your mind and that is crab. This past summer, my girlfriend and I drove down to Baltimore, Md.’s Inner Harbor with nothing else on our minds.
We did a lot of research on the “best crab” in Baltimore before our trip. Unfortunately, that only gave us little guidance, because there are so many great places in Baltimore. We had to decide between the Maryland-style blue crabs and the huge Alaskan King crab legs. The Maryland-style seemed like a lot of work for little reward so we chose the Alaskan kinK, which allowed us to narrow our restaurants down quite a bit.
In the end, we went with the Rusty Scupper, located right on the harbor. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful, and we managed to get the best seat in the house. We had wonderful views of the water and the Baltimore skyline.
The food was phenomenal. We ordered the crab cake appetizer, which was literally just a mountain of jumbo lump crabmeat. We were in heaven. Most places are usually stingy with the amount of crab they use, but not the Rusty Scupper!
As you may have guessed, for dinner we had the Alaskan King crabs legs. They were so big we struggled to finish them. I also want to make note of the outstanding service we received. Our waiter was terrific; he even offered to take pictures of us.
Next time you’re in Baltimore, give the Rusty Scupper a try.

When making your bucket list of national parks you’d like to visit, you might be tempted to overlook National Park of American Samoa due to its remote nature alone. American Samoa sits in the South Pacific, near destinations like Fiji and the Cook Islands. In fact, it’s faster to get there from Australia than it is from the West Coast of the United States.
