“One of the most notable trends we have seen this past year is the return of early trip planning. Travelers are once again booking their sailing adventures earlier, eager to secure their dream vacations and avoid last-minute rushes,” said Loïc Bonnet, president, Dream Yacht Worldwide.
The Caribbean and the Bahamas ranked as top sailing destinations for Americans in 2024, with 73 percent of U.S.-based travelers booking in that region. Beyond the Caribbean, other popular sailing destinations include French Polynesia, Thailand and Seychelles. These destinations saw increased interest year over year, including a whopping 240 percent increase in Seychelles bookings.
