Reykjavik’s breathtaking landscape happens to be the perfect setting for Iceland’s premier summer solstice celebration. Being so close to the Arctic Circle, Iceland experiences three days of light coinciding with the Secret Solstice, making for a truly remarkable and other wordily festival experience.
Secret Solstice is a three-day dance party that rages all day and night under what is known as the midnight moon. With about 8,000 attendees every year, world renowned DJs and indie and urban favorites keep the party going for 72 hours straight — the full length of the summer solstice.
This festival is not your average, run-of-the-mill summer festival. The highest temperatures will be in the 60-degree Fahrenheit range and guests can take a dip in the geothermal pools to warm up and take a break from dancing.
Another great aspect of secret solstice is its impeccably small carbon footprint. All of the energy used to fuel the festival is harnessed from the natural energy and heat souces underground making this festival one of the greenest of its kind.
For an even more unique affair, 100 lucky guests will be able to attend the exclusive glacier rave. These lucky few are among the quickest to purchase a ticket and will experience the out-of-this-world dance party inside a glacier. This event is truly amazing and a must-see and do for any world traveler.
