Grabbing coffee on the go typically requires a lengthy wait in a Starbucks line where you’ll fork over nearly $5 for a tiny bit of coffee and a ton of milk or a sugary concoction that mimics a caffeine boost. That’s why small brewers are looking for ways to make coffee more accessible, affordable and tailored to individual tastes and needs. Sightglass is a company doing just that with its line of instant coffee packets that can go anywhere you go.
Born and based in San Francisco, Sightglass produces coffee in small batches, allowing them to perfect the roasts. Sightglass sells two of its flavor varieties as instant coffee packets: Blueboon (with notes of milk chocolate, mandarin and honeysuckle) and Banner Dark (bittersweet cocoa, toffee and graham cracker), both sourced from Central America and East Africa.
Each instant coffee packet measures out to one cup of coffee. To drink, pour the contents into a mug and add hot water. Sightglass recommends drinking the coffee within 14 days after the roast date, as this is when the flavor is most pungent.
Each small square box of Sightglass instant coffee packets comes with six and costs $18 per box.
