Sleeping bag liners are a great way to upgrade the warmth of your sleeping bag without buying a whole new one. They’re lightweight, packable and generally inexpensive, so you’ll get some serious bang for your literal and figurative buck.
If you’ve ever been cold in your sleeping bag, despite wearing all the clothes you’ve brought with you, a sleeping bag liner may be the way to go. This cheap upgrade allows you to add about 10–20 degrees of warmth to your current bag, depending which one you choose.
Sleeping bag liners are thin, lightweight sacks that simply fit inside your sleeping bag. They also help keep your bag clean and free of dirt and skin cells — you can easily wash the liner, where as sleeping bags are generally harder to clean.
Liners also work well as bedding on warm camping trips, when you may not need a bulky sleeping bag. Simply take your liner and use it instead.
