These days, there are vacation accommodations for just about every niche market. For those who wish to imagine themselves stranded in the jungle after an airplane crash, there is 727 Fuselage Home.
Located in the Costa Verde National Park on the southwestern coast of Costa Rica, this hotel is unlike any other. It consists only of two bedrooms located inside an old 1965 Boeing 727. The fuselage sits among a forest of tropical trees on a private stretch of land. Its cockpit, suspended by a 50-foot column, hangs over the beach and offers an amazing, partially panoramic view of the area.
The exterior of the hotel includes terrace, a spiral staircase and even a deck on each wing of the plane. Inside, the hotel features first-class accommodations including handmade, hardwood teak pieces from Indonesia and a dining area. Other features include a kitchenette with a microwave, a television and a private bathroom with each room.
While sitting high above the jungle canopy in one of the outdoor areas, guests can admire the lush jungle life featuring critters like monkeys and toucans. Those who are lucky may even spot the elusive sloth.
