Study Abroad

Cape Town is a culturally rich city in one of the most unique landscapes of the world. It’s virtually impossible to be bored in this city. While you’re studying abroad there, here is what should not be missed..

Table Top Mountain

The mountain range gets its name from the fact the top is flat enough you can easily walk across it. It also provides some of the best views of Cape Town and the surrounding area you’ll ever have. The University of Cape Town is nestled right at the bottom, so it’s definitely a school you should consider.

The Townships

South Africa has a deep history rooted in Apartheid and the townships where people were forced to live during these times still stand for the most part. You’ll want to explore these areas and speak to the locals for an unforgettable history lesson and understanding of what the people in this country once fought for.

Aquila Game Preserve

You’re in Africa, so you have to go on safari. The Aquila Game Preserve is just a hop, skip and jump away from any spot in Cape Town. You’ll see lions, cheetahs, water buffalo and a few giraffe while you dine on breakfast.

Cheetah Sanctuary

Instead of just watching the exotic animals, how about petting them? At the Cheetah Sanctuary, you’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Africa’s fiercest beasts in a controlled, safe environment. You can also learn about all the ways they work to save these endangered animals.

Langa Baptist Church

Even if you’re not religious you might want to check this place out. It’s famous across the world for its lively services and friendly people. A trip to this church will leave you feeling energized and upbeat about life, no matter what you believe in — or don’t.
