Planning a workcation, a.k.a. a working vacation, wherein you take advantage of your job’s remote work policy and hit the road, answering emails all the while? If so, you may want to head to one of the best spots in Europe for such a trip. A new study from ClickSlice points you in the right direction.
The brand’s study looked at cost, digital infrastructure, internet speeds and opportunities for a nice work-life balance, and found certain European destinations are better than others. Many of the top options on the list are far away from the large cities you might think of when you think “working in Europe,” such as London or Paris, thanks to the study’s focus on cost savings.
The study found, according to all its various criteria, Gran Canaria, Spain, was the best destination to head to for the perfect mix of leisure experiences and everything you need to work remotely. In terms of internet connectivity and capabilities, the destination only tied with València, Spain, and boasts a whopping 320 sunny days per year, meaning you’re just about guaranteed a good time no matter when you can get away.
Other top spots on the brand’s list include Sofia, Bulgaria; Bansko, Bulgaria; Budapest, Hungary; Athens, Greece; Lagos, Portugal; Lisbon, Portugal; Tallinn, Estonia; and Madeira, Portugal.
