The summer travel season is in full swing, and this year travelers seem eager to expand their destination repertoire beyond the normal beaches and lakefronts. Mobile travel app Hitlist surveyed a group of 750,000 travelers to learn where the majority of people will head this summer; the top results are listed below.

Domestically, Americans are flocking to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Relatively cheaper than Miami but with the same stunning coastline and just as much to do, the South Florida city has grown from its spring break party days of the past. Slightly further north is the town of Savannah, Ga., where travelers expressed interest in visiting. The friendly folks, serene environ and evolving arts scene make it a pleasant alternative to the raucous beach towns of South Carolina.

In Europe, Americans are eager to stop in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik. Thanks to ridiculously low airfares from WOW Air, access to Europe has never been cheaper or more enticing. Whether travelers decide to make Iceland their final destination or simply pass through for a few days on their way to mainland Europe, it’s a worthy venture. Due south, Bergen, Norway, is drawing visitors thanks to its proximity to majestic fjords and fewer crowds than budget-sucking Oslo.
