Fair Trade America represents the United States in the fair trade movement for change in the trade industry. The movement has been greatly successful in aiding small-scale farming, artisan crafts and much more. By creating awareness of the damaging effects of global warming as well as sustainable jobs, Fair Trade has made more possible for those hit hardest by climate change.

The Fair Trade Organization works to create positive change in the eco-system of small farming culture by getting fair trade products in stores as well as attempting to put an end to child labor and the ignorance of the effects of climate change.

Small-scale farming includes the production of cotton, sugar, honey, tea, chocolate, bananas, coffee and so much more we take for granted in our everyday lives. The famers involved in fair trade depend on their small farms, typically only a few acres large, for not only the livelihood of their family, but they also play a vital role in their community, culture and economy.

There are many ways to get involved and learn more about fair trade, but one easy way to get started is by shopping smarter. Buying fair trade products and requesting them in grocery stores can help not only a farming family and their entire populace around them, but it also supports sustainable living.

The products and production process go through a rigorous test in order to earn the Fair Trade label and are all organic, hand farmed and free of artificial additives. With such clean origins, buying fair trade will only add positively to the lives of the buyer and be a step toward climate change awareness and accountability.
