Table 6 Restaurant

Restaurant

I travel to Denver multiple times throughout the year — I’m in love with the city — so I feel like I’ve tried quite a few restaurants in this fine town. None of them have managed to unseat Table 6 as my favorite.

On my most recent trip to Table 6 I made the amateur mistake of not reserving a table. It turns out that was actually a good thing. My friends and I were offered a seat at the chef’s bar instead.

I can’t for the life of me remember his name, but he was so friendly and personable, which was shocking for someone working in such a packed place. Table 6 is always packed. It’s a fun atmosphere, though the crowd and music can get a little loud on occasion. They seem to have a thing for ‘90s music. Having grown up in that decade, I dig it.

Many people who dine here regularly recommend the duck confit and so do I. It’ll cost you a pretty penny at $28, but it’s worth it. Pair it with a perfect Pinot Noir and you’re set.

I will say the chef likes his salt, so if that’s not to your taste you might be a little put off. My friend found his meal to be a bit over-seasoned which, admittedly, is a critique I’ve heard about Table 6 more than once. I’m a fan of seasoning, so it works for me.

If you’re in the mood for a good appetizer, try the Pig in a Brick. It’s a sausage wrapped in pastry on top of mustard and lettuce. It sounds a little strange, but it’s also strangely appealing.

Table 6 is the perfect place for a good, if not expensive, date night meal or a great place to grab lunch and watch the game at the bar with some friends.
