National Transgender Awareness Week
Nov. 14–20 was this year’s National Transgender Awareness Week, an important week for the LGBT community, especially after the highest numbers in anti-transgender hate crimes in the United States since 2013. As The Guardian gathered from a report by The Human Rights Campaign, “Among all 53 transgender murders from 2013 to 2015, not a single one was prosecuted or reported as a hate crime.”
