Bluesmart is a carry-on suitcase that can be controlled with a smartphone app. The app can lock and unlock the suitcase, track its location and notify users ifthe suitcase is left behind. Users are notified any time someone attempts to open the suitcase. The Bluesmart Travel Sentry Approved Lock will be accepted by the TSA. To avoid a hassle over packing too many pairs of shoes at the check-in gate, Bluesmart features a handy built-in digital scale. Users can pull the handle and the app will display the suitcase weight.

Bluesmart will work with iOS and Android. While the average carry-on weighs around 8.2 pounds, Bluesmart’s current prototype is 8.5 pounds. The suitcase also has a built-in battery to charge two devices at the same time. The battery can recharge a smartphone six times over. The suitcase is currently available in Graphite Black and one size, carry-on, 21.5 inches by 14 inches by 9 inches. The size is approved by all major airlines to carry on.

Bluesmart launched in October 2014 from crowdfunding on IndieGoGo. The $50,000 goal was exceeded and currently stands at more than $1.3 million. The Bluesmart is available as a pre-order on IndieGoGo. There is currently a limited pre-order for $260. The product is estimated to be shipped in July 2015.

Clear nights in Texas allow for some of the best stargazing opportunities in the country. In spring, various locations across the state provide dark skies to not only see distant stars but also the Milky Way as it rises in the Northern Hemisphere. In fact, on April 8, 2024, Texas will offer prime viewing for the total solar eclipse, which will take place over Mexico, the United States and Canada.
