During a recent visit to Fort Collins, Colo., I stayed at The Armstrong Hotel. Located in downtown Fort Collins, the hotel is within walking distance of many great restaurants, breweries, outdoor activities and entertainment.
We were in town for a wedding and shared a suite with another couple. The two-bedroom suite was cozy, with one bathroom. We didn’t spend too much time in the room, so the close quarters weren’t an issue. My queen-size bed boasted comfortable pillows and one of the best hotel comforters I’ve experienced. Each room had a television and we shared a mini-fridge and microwave. The rooms are outfitted in understated Art Deco décor. I felt completely at home at the boutique hotel.
Fort Collins is a bike-friendly city and The Armstrong offers guests a complimentary bike rental program. One morning we rented bikes to ride to the nearby Old Town Athletic Club, where guests of The Armstrong can work out for free. With many nearby attractions to choose from, a stop in the property’s basement lounge, Ace Gillett’s, is a must. The lounge and jazz club hosts live music and serves up delicious food and cocktails.
The staff at The Armstrong was friendly and accommodating during our stay, offering recommendations for local favorites. With its ideal downtown location, personal service and inviting rooms, The Armstrong Hotel offers guests a true Fort Collins experience.
