The Sikkim Summer Carnival Is A Must

It’s highly unlikely you’re going to read this, drop everything and head to the annual Sikkim Summer Carnival. But, consider making plans for the Sikkim Summer Carnival.

Not terrifically far from Darjeeling, Gangtok, also in Sikkim, India plays host to a truly awe-inspiring carnival where tradition, folklore, regional dance and culture come to the forefront for five days each May.

The festival is a celebration of culture and flowers, smack dab in the middle of some of the best outdoor activities India has to offer including extreme activities. For those who have traveled to India or prepped for a trip, crossing the street, riding a train or simply eating lunch are not the only extreme activities on offer in India.

Sikkim offers some of India’s best whitewater rafting, paragliding, rock climbing and other activities for those interested in having their bodies produce a little old-fashioned adrenaline.
