Taking a vacation is an endeavor that often takes months of diligent planning and costly expenses. For this reason, just the thought of cloudy skies and wet clothes can be enough to worry travelers. It is always important to have Plan B in case rain gets in the way of a sunny vacation.
How to Prepare
The best offense is a good defense. Before leaving home, travelers should scope out back-up options to sunbathing on the beach, just in case things go awry. Also, bringing a reliable raincoat (or buying one at your destination) is never a bad idea.
Find Indoor Activities
While at first, rain may appear to dampen plans, it is important to realize many popular vacation activities take place indoors. Bars, nightclubs, museums, restaurants, shows and commercial shopping can all be enjoyed without any interference. If all else fails, ask the locals where the best indoor spots are around town.
Embrace the Rain
If you are vacationing in a warm weather area, the rain may be not only bearable, but perhaps even a much appreciated relief from the sweltering heat. Just make sure you have a dry change of clothes when you get back to the hotel.
