Things to Do in Washington, D.C. This Spring

Head to Washington, D.C., this spring for its famous cherry blossoms and so much more.

Peak bloom for the iconic cherry blossoms is expected March 23–26, though the blossoms are visible before and up to two weeks after the peak. The annual Cherry Blossom Festival will be held March 20–April 14. A variety of events take place throughout the festival, from art exhibits to parades. More than a dozen hotels throughout the city offer travelers special cherry blossom-inspired packages, with offerings including boat tours, complimentary bike rentals, a fragrance class, welcome amenities and cherry blossom-inspired cocktails. Restaurants throughout the city host special springtime menus coinciding with the festival.

For baseball fans, attend the Nationals’ home opener April 1. Filmfest DC, the largest and longest-running annual international film festival in D.C., takes place April 18–28. Throughout the month of May, Passport DC offers programming showcasing the city’s international diplomatic community and diverse culture.
