Tips / Other

It is cold outside and though you are blasting the heat at home, you may not be able to warm up no matter what you do. Does this sound familiar? If this is the case you may want to pull out some old reliable DIY inventions or run to the store and buy a new blanket. Here are some tips for staying warm this winter.

Some simple home remedies include drinking hot beverages to warm up from the inside out. You may also want to try a shower that alternates between warm and cool water. This works because it increases circulation and good circulation keeps you warm.

If these methods are not enough, try making your own hand warmers with a little cotton fabric and some rice. These are reusable and can get thrown into a coat pocket as you leave the house.

Before you head to REI and buy anything and everything involving Thinsulate, buy some Cuddl Duds or 40 Below socks. These are an affordable option for layering up to brave the cold. If you are struggling to stay warm, layer up, increase circulation and pray for an early spring!
