Detroit is home to a thriving beer scene, with new breweries popping up often. We’ve narrowed down a few must-see breweries on your next visit to Detroit.

Atwater Brewery

The Riverton brewery focuses on German-style lagers and unique boutique ales. The Vanilla Java Porter is a fan favorite. In addition to two Detroit locations, the brewery has a Grand Rapids outpost.

Batch Brewing Company

Located in the city’s Corktown section, this popular brewery features about a dozen different beers at any given time. Each month the brewery features a “feel good tap” which donates part of the proceeds from each beer to a different charity.

Detroit Beer Company

Opened in 2003, the Detroit Beer Company offers a rotating beer list in addition to a full menu in its brewpub. Its convenient downtown location makes it the perfect stop during a visit to downtown attractions. Taps rotate often, ensuring there’s always something new to try.

Jolly Pumpkin Pizzeria and Brewery

Enjoy craft beers and a solid food menu. The brewery specializes in oak-aged sour beers. Sample brews from the year-round selection, special series and collaborations.

Motor City Brewing Works

Motor City Brewing Works has served up quality craft beer since 1994 and is the oldest operating brewery in Detroit. Open daily, the brewery also serves brick-oven pizza.
