As the air turns crisp marking the arrival of fall, Philadelphia offers plenty of spots to cozy up and enjoy the season. These five are our favorites.
Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest
The seasonal winter park features an outdoor ice-skating rink, fire pits, cozy cabins and food and beverages from local restaurants. Located along the Delaware River, the area feels more like a ski chalet than an urban winterfest.
Complete with a fireplace, this British pub-style bar and restaurant is the perfect place to cozy up with a drink and good company. If you want to go really traditional, stop in for the restaurant’s afternoon tea service.
Double Knot does double duty as a coffee shop and izakaya. During the day, enjoy coffee and small plates. At night, head downstairs for a full menu of sushi, sashimi, robatayaki and a stellar chef’s tasting menu. The dim lighting and dark décor transform you to another time and place.
One Shot Café serves coffee along with breakfast and lunch options daily. The cozy décor of exposed brick walls, comfy seating and full bookshelves feels more like home than a coffee shop.
Located in a renovated row home in South Philadelphia’s booming East Passyunk neighborhood, the French bistro is perfect for a date, intimate dinner with friends or glass of wine at the bar.
