Las Vegas is close, but it doesn’t match the culture and atmosphere of summer in Ibiza. Get yourself to this Balearic Island and check out these five classic venues.
Privilege
Starting as a community swimming pool, Club San Rafael transformed into Privilege during the 80s house boom. In the 90s it became the trance capital of the world with residences from Armin Van Buuren and Tiësto, while today it holds down the underground scene.
Pacha Ibiza
Pacha started in Sitges, Barcelona, before moving headquarters to Ibiza. It’s one of the most recognizable clubbing brands thanks to new venues around the world. It is also home to longtime resident David Guetta, who has been manning the booth long before he was a pop superstar.
Amnesia
Amnesia is another staple on San Antonio Road, especially for house and techno fans. The club believes it has one of the best sound systems in the world thanks to its Expanded Amnesia Technology which analyzes the music and enhances frequencies that move the human body.
DC-10
It may not have the history of other Ibiza clubs, but this former aircraft hanger is a reimagination of UK’s superclub model for Ibiza. If you’re looking for a party on Monday, Circoloco’s house and techno night is one of the most talked about events on the island.
Space Ibiza
DJ Mag just moved Space back to the top spot (if you even care about that sort of thing), knocking Brazil’s Green Valley down a peg. The club is one of the oldest and most awarded on Ibiza with legendary residencies from the likes of Carl Cox, Danny Tenaglia and Richie Hawtin.
