Top 5 / North America

New York’s Finger Lakes region is home to some of the best wineries in the state. It is named for its series of thin lakes and is famous for its abundance of wineries. While it may be overwhelming to try to see them all in one visit, start with these five favorites.

Dr. Konstantin Frank
Opened in 1962, this winery truly elevated the viniculture movement in the region. Located on Keuka Lake, Dr. Franks — as it is affectionately called — is known for its Riesling varietals.

Glenora Wine Cellars
The winery serves award-winning wines from its tasting room on Seneca Lake. Opened in 1977, Glenora holds the title of the first winery on Seneca Lake. Stay at the on-site inn or dine at the restaurant during your visit.

Heron Hill Winery
Heron Hill Winery offers stunning panoramic views of Keuka Lake. The award-winning winery specializes in Riesling. While the winery is located on Keuka Lake, Heron Hill has tasting rooms on Canandaigua and Seneca Lakes.

Ravines Wine Cellars
Located on Seneca Lake, the small, family-owned winery highlights the best and most unique grapes of the vineyard. There is also a tasting room on Keuka Lake.

Sheldrake Point Winery
This Cayuga Lake winery sits on a 44-acre site, overlooking the lake. The casual tasting room is open daily, with hours varying by season.
