Situated at the end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is one of the most iconic buildings in the City of Brotherly Love. The famous steps might look familiar if you’ve seen Rocky (or any Rocky parodies and imitations). With a collection of more than 220,000 pieces of art, the contents of the museum are just as famous as the building façade.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art’s collection includes holdings from Asia, Europe, Latin America and the United States. The collection includes sculpture, paintings, prints, drawings, photographs, armor and decorative arts. Collection, exhibition and outdoor tours run daily and are free after admission. Special exhibitions are on display on a rotating basis.
Multiple dining options operated by STARR Catering Group are available including Granite Hill, an upscale French-inspired dining experience, and A Burger, a food truck specializing in gourmet burgers.
The museum is closed Mondays, with the exception of select holidays. Admission costs $20 for adults and $14 for students with a valid ID. On the first Sunday of every month (10 a.m.–5 p.m.), and every Wednesday (5–8:45 p.m.), admission is pay what you wish.
