Sleep is essential, but so elusive when on a plane, train or bus. Having to cram your head up again a wall or a window is less than comfortable and more than a little disgusting. Traveling with a pillow can be just the ticket. There are many to choose from, so you have to know what you are looking for. Do you need something that doesn’t take up a lot of space, or is perfect support and comfort your main priority? Here are some pillow options for the road that might help guide your choice.

  • The Cabeau Neck Pillow looks like your typical travel pillow with its headrest support and adjustable straps for seats, but it is anything but typical. This product provides excellent support and, though it does not fold up easily, it can be attached to the outside of luggage with ease. It costs around $40.

  • The Daisy Travel Pillow has a double cushion that looks a little odd, but actually supports your head and your neck for total comfort. This item runs around $32 on Amazon.

  • The Trtl Pillow looks like neck scarf, but provides excellent support and is half the size of your standard travel pillow. There is an internal support system beneath all of the fleece and it is a beautiful thing. This item is also around $30.
