A visit to Triumph Brewing Company’s New Hope location was the perfect escape from the cold weather. I stopped by the brewery with some friends on a recent Saturday.

We arrived in the late afternoon. Even with a party of seven, we were seated quickly. I chose the Amber Ale from their rotating tap. Per it’s menu description, the beer is brewed in a Pacific-Northwest style; it has a sweet, malty taste balanced with Cascade hops. I was happy with my selection.

Since it was after normal lunchtime hours, and we were still hungry, we decided to split several small plates. Triumph uses local, regional and sustainable ingredients, so menu items change frequently. On our visit ,we ordered housemade soft pretzels, nachos, “cozy piggies” and the pickled plate. The lightly salted pretzels were fluffy and warm and came with beer mustard on the side. The nachos were topped with short rib ragout, pico de gallo, black beans, crème fraiche, long hots and cheddar fondue. We added guacamole for an additional $1. The cozy piggies were a slight spin on the traditional pigs in a blanket. Chorizo was wrapped in puff pastry and placed on top of a mustard aioli. The pickled plate came with an assortment of pickled vegetables including beets, cauliflower, carrots and fennel. Olive tapenade, local ricotta and crostini accompanied the vegetables. The pretzels and nachos were standouts. With many delicious-sounding sandwiches, salads and entrees, I hope to go back sometime soon for a full meal.

Located in the middle of New Hope’s popular shops, Triumph is the perfect place for a meal or beer during your visit.
