Grab a traditional Moroccan breakfast at Sqala Cafe, where you can get a great meal for less than $20. If the weather is nice, you can choose to eat in the garden, or inside the historic building, dating back to the 1700s.

For about $30 ($15 for students), you can tour the Hassan II Mosque. While that may seem like a big chunk of your budget unless you’re a student, it may be worth it to you to see one of the arguably most important and recognizable sites in Casablanca. As always when visiting a holy site, remember to arrive with your legs, shoulders and arms covered.

You’ll definitely want to visit Casablanca’s central market, where, while the market itself isn’t terribly large, you’ll find such a wide array of wares you’ll never want to leave. You’ll find lots of food, produce, clothing, household items and more, with lots of vendors willing to barter with you to strike a bargain.

For gorgeous architecture and a bit of Moroccan history, visit Place Mohammed V, where families and young people stroll through the fountains and palm trees. You’ll find many tourists here, as it’s the perfect photo op.

For about $20, you can grab dinner at Le Trica, which is Casablanca’s attempt at creating a hot spot eatery reminiscent of New York City. It’s become popular enough and you can find a hodgepodge of pasta, tapas, beer and wine on the menu.

Before you head back to your hotel for the evening, be sure to pay a visit to Rick’s Café, inspired by the film classic Casablanca, for a drink or two.
