Cancun is famous for its party scene, but cheap flights mean it is a gateway for all kinds of travelers from around the world. Even if you only want to stay one day, here’s how to see the city for less than $100.
The day tends to start late in Cancun, so head out for brunch at 100% Natural. Whether you are fighting off last night’s hangover, or simply fancy something healthy to eat, the smoothies and nutritious meals are the perfect way to start the day ($15).
After breakfast either relax on one of the beaches or head to the Museo Maya de Cancun, depending on the weather. For lunch, go to Le Natura, taking a break from the sun under the lush green foliage of the garden as you chow down on one of the famous lunch combos ($8).
Even if you aren’t on a boozy holiday, it would be a shame to come to Cancun without experiencing some of the famous party atmosphere. The town is full of bars where you can sink beers and cocktails throughout the afternoon, and into the later hours. Some of the best include Congo Bar, Los 4 Elementos and Mandala for some dancing.
After an afternoon of drinking, you’ll need to take on some more food. El Fish Fritanga serves main meals (around $12) looking over the lagoon until 11 p.m., while the taco stand remains open until 1 a.m., if you’re in need of a late-night bite.
