Where is the Vortex? This is a question you do not ask if you know better. Residents and pilgrims of Sedona know the vortex finds you and not the other way around. Sedona is a town that sits just north of Phoenix in central Arizona. A vortex in the Sedona sense is a swirling center of energy said to have healing and enlightening properties. Some say all of Sedona is one great vortex, but there are places in which the energy is clustered in more intense pockets than others.

How do you know you have entered a vortex? You may feel a power surge that leads you up into the sky or down to the earth. Alternatively, there may be an arrangement of stones signaling others have come before you, or there may be others actually sitting in front of you deep in meditation. The most commonly known vortex sites can be found at Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock, Boynton Canyon or Airport Mesa.

However, even if you find your way to one of these locations you will have to feel around for the vortex energy. There are companies and healers you can hire to assist you with your quest, but you are more than welcome to hike these beautiful locations on your own and see what you find. For more information on Sedona and all it has to offer in a metaphysical sense, visit the Sedona Metaphysical Spiritual Association.
