Tips / Travel

From flight check-in to baggage claim, a lot of time passes when waiting around for flights, bags and everything in between. Therefore, snacks and maybe even meals are necessities to keep your satiety in check. Once on board, consideration for seatmates is not required, but it is non-verbally understood. When planning snacks on your next flight, consider the following tips to keep your stomach full but spare your neighbors any annoying sounds or odors.

Anything with Peanut Butter

Sure, peanut butter is an excellent source of protein and healthy fat to keep you satiated for hours aboard a long-haul flight, but peanut allergies are rampant and sensitivities to the spread range greatly. To keep it safe, stick with small crackers with peanut butter and discard the wrapping entirely.

Anything Incredibly Fragrant

Chipotle and other Mexican food may be your comfort food of choice when flying, but that does not mean you have to share it with the rest of the plane. If Mexican food is a must, stick to less-fragrant options like a chicken and cheese quesadilla.

Anything Crunchy

Peanuts are the go-to plane snack for many airlines and passengers, but the cacophonous crunching is not as intense as other treats like chips or crackers. If consuming such snacks, chew softly and maintain the respect of your fellow passengers.
