Trends / Food & Drink

“North of Madison Square Park” is one of New York’s most vibrant neighborhoods and the perfect place to stay for a weekend in the city. The area is filled with great restaurants. Here are four favorites.

L&W Oyster Co.

Seafood lovers looking for a good raw bar should check out L&W Oyster Co., a casual, beach-style restaurant that prides itself on fresh food and a fun atmosphere.

Ilili

If you’re with a group, this Lebanese/Mediterranean restaurant is a great place for small plate sharing. The menus are divided into four specialties: meatless (falafel, baba ghanouj), fish (black cod, branzino), meat (beef kebbeh, duck schwarma) and the fan-favorite grill, which offers an assortment of kebabs and kaftas cooked over charcoal.

Hill Country

Hill Country’s kitchen was christened with a log of Texas oak before opening in 2007. While it’s way pricier than what you find in the South, the restaurant is a favorite in New York for its authentic barbecue, sold by the pound.

Eleven Madison Park

For your final night in NoMad, check out the highly praised Eleven Madison Park, where Chef Daniel Humm serves you a fixed menu of more than a dozen courses that changes weekly. Highlights include aged ribeye with oxtail jam, smoked sturgeon and the signature foie gras.
