The inaugural High Sierra Hops craft beer weekend took place at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite June 1–2. The weekend showcased the craft beer of the area and included both an exclusive beer-pairing dinner and a more casual barbecue brew party.

“It’s fun to work with our local South Gate Brewing Company to present unique pairing menus for these two different events,” said Frederick Claubaugh, executive chef, Tenaya Lodge. “Our beer weekend will introduce guests to a range of delicious local flavors, all inspired by the beautiful High Sierra setting and premium locally sourced ingredients. It’s a fun, relaxed celebration to kick off the summer season.”

The fun began with the beer-pairing dinner, with beer and hors d’oeuvres followed by a three-course, beer-pairing dinner. Over the course of the meal, brewmasters shared tasting notes regarding each of the brews. Live music ended the evening.

The next day’s itinerary included a family-friendly pool party tasting event, with pints and tastings, gourmet barbecue, live music and lawn games.

The resort is also offered a High Sierra Hops room package for the event. The two-night experience included premium accommodations, two tickets to each event mentioned above, beer mimosa vouchers, welcome amenities, commemorative pint glasses and more.
